Al igual que el cine y la música, los deportes electrónicos cuentan con sus entregas de premios donde se premia lo mejor del 2019. Desde jugadores, hasta periodistas y juegos, los Esports Awards es una de las citas mas importantes del año. Para esta edición del 2019, la premiación se mudó a Texas, en el Esports Stadium de Arlington, un estadio diseñado para albergar competencias que además sirve como centro de entrenamiento para los jugadores y equipos que deseen usar las instalaciones.
El show comenzó el 16 de noviembre a las 23 hs. de Argentina y fue su primera vez en Estados Unidos, antes se celebraba en Londres. Esta será la primera edición con un participante argentino, el periodista Kevin Aiello, mas conocido como Kevo Esports y miembro de Infobae. Los inicios de Kevin como periodista se remontan al 2012 y desde ese momento que sigue el paso a paso de la escena de los deportes electrónicos, haciendo un seguimiento mas cercano de lo que sucede en Counter-Strike y League of Legends.
La premiación se dividió en tres categorías: Industria, donde se premian desde el mejor juego de esports, hasta periodista y marcas del año. Luego están los de comunidad, donde se premió al mejor creador de contenidos, personalidades del año, como Tyler “Ninja” Blevins o el jugador brasilero de Counter-Strike Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo y por último, la categoría profesional, donde se premió a los mejores relatores, jugadores, entrenadores, entre otros participantes activos de la escena.
